oh, hey wednesday.

makin’ a mess. makin’ stuff.

I just found out that my good family friend Jackson passed away last night.  He was kind of incredible. Always had a cool story to share (the man knew Al Capone for goodness sakes!).  He remembered dates and names better than anyone I know and got around town like it was nobody’s business.  He was a US Army Veteran.  He’d been married 7 times and has 40 children.

Things I’ll miss about him: his charming laugh and sense of humor, his way with the ladies, stories of his young girlfriends (in their 70’s), fried chicken, and wet willies.

We share a birthday on the 24th of this month.  I’ll be 25 and he would have been 106.

His clue to a long life was simple: “Love myself so I can love everybody else.”

Working on a new mixtape (I do one every month for a couple friends back home).

I think it’d be fun to start exchanging mixes with people more often.  I love getting new music!  Maybe I’ll make up a few extra to send out to some of you guys…but only if you send me one back.  Music and actual mail…what could be better?

Valerie and Mike came with me tonight.  It was pretty great.  We bonded over almost dying on the freeway after. (that’s my “oh-my-gosh-free-vampire-weekend” face)
